Tipping: Not traditionally expected. Many resorts run a staff Christmas fund box instead of individual tipping, which is the customary way to give.

Do Australians need a visa for Fiji?
No. Australian passport holders are granted a visitor permit on arrival for up to four months, free of charge. Your passport needs six months validity and you'll need to show an onward ticket.
Do I need a power adapter for Fiji?
No. Fiji uses the same Type I plug and 240V power as Australia, so your chargers work straight out of the bag.
Is tap water safe in Fiji?
In Nadi, Denarau and Suva, yes. On outer islands and in villages, stick to bottled or boiled water.
Do I need travel insurance for Fiji?
It's strongly recommended. There's no reciprocal health care agreement, medical facilities outside the main island are limited, and an air evacuation to Australia can cost AUD $50,000 or more. If you're travelling in cyclone season, check the policy covers weather disruption.
Can I drive in Fiji on my Australian licence?
Yes, for up to six months. No International Driving Permit is needed, and Fiji drives on the left like Australia.
